VITICUS nace a principios de 2002, cuando Vitico, fundador de RIFF junto a Pappo, reúne a su hijo Nicolás, y su sobrino Sebastián para formar una nueva banda de rock.

En 2003 se suma Ariel Rodríguez, y así logran la formación actual con tres guitarras y tres cantantes.

Hacia fines de ese año se edita el primer disco “VITICUS”, grabado en el estudio “El Abasto”, con Claudio Romandini como ingeniero y el ganador del grammy Álvaro Villagra supervisando todo el proceso.
Se apoya el lanzamiento con video clips para los temas “La autopista” y “Fugitiva”, este último realizado en animación 3D por Giboon Animations.

Desde este momento la banda comienza a girar a nivel nacional, llega también al Uruguay y participa en todos los grandes festivales: Cosquín Rock 04,05,06 y 07 ; Quilmes Rock 03,04 y Pepsi Music 05. En este último abren el escenario para Megadeth.
Se presentan en La Trastienda Club, y agotan localidades en 4 oportunidades.

En Agosto de 2005 viajan a España, para apoyar la edición europea de su primer cd. Tocan en Bilbao, en la fiesta del Aste Nagusia, evento que reúne artistas de renombre internacional como Iggy Pop y Carlinhos Brown. También actúan en salas de Madrid y Barcelona.
En 2006 se edita en la Argentina su segundo disco: “SUPER”, grabado también en el estudio “El Abasto” con los mismos ingenieros del primer trabajo.
Este material contiene 13 nuevas canciones y un bonus track del clásico de Riff “Mucho por hacer” grabado en vivo en el estadio de Obras Sanitarias.
Para apoyar el primer corte, “Esta noche hay rock & roll” se presenta un video con imágenes de la gira y diferentes shows.

La segunda gira por la península ibérica finalizó a mediados de septiembre de 2006 luego de 11 shows en el País Vasco, Galicia, Valencia y Madrid.
La banda ve afianzada su propuesta en estos lugares y cosecha excelentes críticas en medios gráficos, televisión y radio.

El 2007 se inició con la partcipación de Viticus en el festival mas grande del rock Argentino, Cosquín Rock, en la que fué su cuarta aparición consecutiva en dicho evento.
El año trancurrió entre shows (dos Niceto Club en cap. Fed.) giras por el interior del país, y la preparación del tercer disco.
Se presentó el video clip del ultimo corte de “SUPER”, “Porque te vas?
El 2008 se comienza lleno de shows y giras (un éxito rotundo en el Cosquin Rock 08) y con la edición de su tercer trabajo, prevista para Septiembre, la banda espera seguir creciendo.También se está elaborando un dvd para editar este año.

Contiene en su totalidad temas potentes que son una demostración de rock valvular en su estado original.

[spoiler]Este es el unico album de la formacion original de la banda con Lemmy en bajo y voz, Larry Wallis en guitarra y voz y Lucas Fox en bateria. Durante las sesiones, el productor original Dave Edmunds renuncio a sus tareas siendo remplazado por Fritz Fryer. EL baterista Fox fue luego reemplazado por Phil "Philthy Animal" Tylor, un conocido ocacional de Lemmy a quien habia persuadido para que lo lleve a los estudios Rockfield. Tylor copio todas las pistas de Fox a excepcion de "Lost Johnny" como se le mantenia en prision a raiz de un arresto por su presunta embriaguez y alteracion del orden publico, cuando ese periodo de sesiones se debia realizar.

De las pistas, tres ("Motorhead", "The Watcher" and "Lost Johnny ") fueron re-grabaciones de canciones Lemmy había escrito y grabado con Hawkwind, "City Kids" fueron re-grabaciones de pistas de Wallis co-escritas y grabadas con The Pink Fairies, "Leaving Here" fue un cover de un tema de Holland/Dozier/Holland Motown que lemmy habia aprendido mientras "roadying"(no se que significa) para The Birds. "On Parole" fue grabada y sacada po Larry Wallis (ayudado por Eddie and the Hot Rods)como un lado B para Stiff Records, "Police Car" simple de 1977, despues de este album ha sido grabado, pero antes de su salida.

EN ese momento, United Artists no staba conforme con el potencial comercial del album y lo dejaron de lado despues de que la banda "disparara" a la UA todo el tiempo diciendo: 'Que mierda les pasa? Cuando sale el album? Cuando van a venir a uno de neustros recitales? Que pasa con la adquisiciond e una agencia?' Todo lo que deseabamos era mierda comercial, ya sabes, fotos y todo eso. Pero cuando volvimos de Rockfield con los maestros, claro, obtuvimos un gran: 'Oh genial fantastico', pero en las semanas siguientes se perdian es excusas y mierda". Despues de que la banda habia aumentado el exito comercial de los albumes Overkill y Bomber, UA re-evaluado el album y le dio una tardia liberacion a finales de 1979, a pesar de la desaprobacion de la banda.
